AC compressor motors utilise thin section angular contact ball bearings. These have a good balance of properties such as high-speed capability; capability to take combined radial and axial forces and capability of operating with a small clearance or preload. Alloys are used in the manufacture to improve performance in high-speed rotation, increased heat resistance, water-resistance, and dust proofing.
